HWL Ebsworth Graduate Program 2020

The opportunities

We are excited to announce that our Graduate Program for 2020 has expanded and we are offering a greater number of graduate roles than ever before.

We are currently recruiting for Graduates to join our Insurance and/or Property Practice Groups within our Sydney CBD office which is located in Australia Square.

We are also looking for Graduates to join our Norwest office in the areas of Litigation, Property and Corporate and Commercial. Our Norwest Office is located in Norwest Business Park.

About the Sydney Office

With 103 Partners and 193 lawyers, our Sydney office is the largest office nationally by a significant margin, with no sign of growth slowing down. The volume of practice specialities means there is an opportunity for our staff to work on a hugely diverse range of matters, or to hone in skills in niche areas as those matters arise. The diversity of the staff, clients and work types means opportunities are aplenty.

About the Norwest Office

With 5 Partners and 15 Lawyers, our Norwest office has experienced substantial growth in instructions over recent years and has a reputation for being one of the highest performing offices nationally. The Norwest office continues to play the lead role on pivotal local, national and international commercial matters and allows our staff there the chance to re-claim time spent commuting to work in a location that can provide greater flexibility.

About you

You will be commercially minded and like to roll up your sleeves to get things done. You will be good at developing networks and won't shy away from direct client interactions. You will be hungry for exposure to a broad range of matters, seeking hands on experience with an array of duties from drafting, court attendances, client meetings to legal research. You will have strong organisational skills and exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal. You will be business minded and want to truly understand the drivers of your clients and the environments in which they operate.

About us

We are proud to offer our staff unrivalled career development opportunities and provide them with a chance to work with Australia's most highly regarded corporate and commercial organisations, as well as Commonwealth Government and State Government Departments and Agencies.

Our differentiators include:

  • A lower ratio of solicitors to partners than any other major Australian law firm. This provides our team members with the opportunity to interact with clients much earlier in their legal careers. It also allows our graduates to benefit from having greater access to partners, which accelerates their professional development.
  • Our transparent career development framework, which ensures that all team members are aware of the firm’s expectations at each level, and what skills are required to advance to the next career stage.
  • Promoting and rewarding talent based solely on merit, allowing all team members to reach their potential.

We are committed to providing an environment that supports and encourages all team members to progress. We are not your typical law firm.

Come and be a part of something exciting.
